Certified Sustainable Quady Winery (Madera, California), specializes in producing sweet and aperitif wines with distinctive varieties that thrive in the warm climate of the San Joaquin Valley. Quady created the first varietal bottling of an Orange Muscat dessert wine (Essensia) in the U.S. in 1980, followed by a Black Muscat dessert wine (Elysium) in 1983. In 1988, the winery introduced Starboard Batch 88, made from Portuguese grapes in the port style. In 1990, Quady began producing its most popular wines: low-alcohol Moscatos, first made from Orange Muscat and Muscat Canelli (Electra), then Black Muscat (Red Electra, 1993), and a blend of all three (Electra Rosé) in 2019. Quady launched Vya Sweet and Extra Dry Vermouths in 1999, the U.S.’s original craft vermouth and leading premium domestic vermouth brand.
